EFRUZE GLASS DESIGN

Efruze means light, lighter, flame. As we are dealing with glass, the name highly express us. In this web-site, you will see the glass designs created with imagination.

Flame comes out from blowtorch (‘hamlaç’ in Ottoman language) by perfect accordance with propan and fire. Glass is created by combination of sand, lime and soda.  While lime gives the strength, soda decreases the boiling point of glass. Effetre glass produced in Murano island is used in Efruze. Ornella and lauscha are also other glasses used in glass art.

The most important feature of Efruze is that glass designs are created by hature couter understanding. In this sense, the designs are unique forever. It is important to mention that design stage is not easy. Inspiration turns to reality comes out in short time, or in two years time. The combination of weave with glass is used in the designs. Also, designs are inspired from Ottoman Empire and Middle ages. They seem to be the modern versions of at that time.
